Superpages Advertising Problems(Verizon/Idearc)

This is in regards to Verizon Superpages online advertising. My business information is Murphy Beds of Manasota, located at 7232 Manatee Ave West in Bradenton, FL. 34209. In the month of November 2005 I was solicited over the phone for advertising with the Verizon Superpages by a Derek Leatch. He had lied to me about the advertising I would be receiving online. The package I was informed, by Derek, I would be getting was my business name and other information online available to consumers in three separate cities in my area. Instead, I had come to be informed that this was not the case. What I was being given, without my knowledge, was my business name and information in only one city. So at that time I called Verizon and I was pushed off to an escalation department that only handles problems via mail. I had written and sent the letter November 11, 2005. I had not heard anything back from this escalation department in a few months, so I then called Verizon again, keep in mind I am receiving bills for this service I do not want. The person I had spoke with stated she could not help me because this escalation department was "handling it". I have called the FCC, they couldn't help me, so they directed me towards the Department of Agriculture and they couldn't help me. It is now June 2006 and I do not know what step I need to take next. I know that an attorny would cost me more than the advertising did.

I had a problem

I'm the owner of Discount and Payless Air Conditioning and I've been screwed by Idearc Media/Verizon Yellow pages just like you got screwed. They made mistakes on my artwork. Some artwork wasn't given to me to make changes. Also, they made lots of billing mistakes on my account. I tried to fix it with them for many months and eventually it got fixed. The reps don't take care of you. It seems once they get paid, they don't care about you and the company seems to have serious internal problems. They really don't care about the customer.Sincerely,Marlon

Hello there. This is David Messenger of Truth. The truth is Verizon screwed me over major. I'm advertising in their Verizon yellow pages book for Miami, FL and I've had several issues with them : Ranging from artwork mistakes, no proof given on artwork, not being taken care of by the representatives of their company, and trying to resolve issues about bill payments. But have been unable to due to the incompetence of their representatives. They never even sent me a bill. The Internet campaign by their company was managed very poorly by Christeannette Urban #100245, my rep for Broward county and Dade county. A very bad rep who doesn't care about her customers. Who only cares about getting their money, and after she's got it, she forgets about you. Idearc Media is more or less the same way. They don't care about their customers. After they have your money, they don't care about taking care of you. They made promises to resolve issues and those promises continue to go unfulfilled 2 months later. Basically I created this blog for myself and others to vent their frustrations on this page if they'd like.
